ANU Chess Team Claims 2nd Place Nationally as Bright Ayenor Named Tournament's Best Player

All Nations University (ANU), Koforidua, Ghana, continues its proud ascent on the national chess stage with an even stronger performance in the latest Ghana Tertiary Chess Tournament organised by Brilliancy Chess Academy under the auspices of the Ghana Chess Association. Building on last year’s success, ANU recorded a remarkable improvement by securing two (2) Gold Medals and finishing 2nd overall on the medal ranking table out of 14 competing universities.

A defining highlight of the tournament was the outstanding performance of Bright Ayenor, who emerged as the Best Chess Player on Board One (the strongest board) and was crowned the Overall Best Chess Player of the Tournament with 5/5 points. This exceptional feat underscores ANU’s growing dominance in competitive chess and the depth of strategic excellence within the team.

The victorious campaign was delivered by the same committed and talented squad: Bright Ayenor, Offiong Hogan, Teye Emmanuel (SRC President), Benjamin Kwesi Amoah, Abigail Princess Nyala, guided with discipline and insight by Patron/Coach Mr Lawrence Bassey Ekpo. Their consistency, teamwork, and resilience translated into a performance that firmly positioned ANU among Ghana’s elite tertiary chess institutions.
